girl nude study

I had the unfortunate task of subjecting my fellow students to my painted toenails. I didn’t realize this until it was too late, and I sure as hell wasn’t about to take it off. At least I’m not cutting off my ear.

I put together this series of images in AE for ANM 241, an after effects class at Academy of Art. Here is a video of the stages with some good music. Very simple stuff I know, but it’s still cool.
someone mentioned it looks like an Adult Swim bump! And I didn’t realize how right they were! Also the music is Prefuse 73, my fav “non-singing” artist, who is often played on Adult Swim bumps. Sometimes I don’t feel special when my favorite underground music is played on the airwaves, but that’s also why I love Adult Swim.
So I decided to make an image out of it in tribute to Adult Swim. I think I would like to make a series of fake bumps now, so consider this my first accidental one.
You know this should be your new wallpaper.
I got to add a new category to my blog with this, and it’s After Effects! Yay, I’m moving forward in my life!
oh I also did some 3D composting and lighting this week as well:
a video for this would definitely look cooler than the one above, because of the 3D aspect of the lighting on the ship. The whole ship is UV mapped in Maya, and was really fun to play with.
I’d make one, but I’m too lazy.
Well here is an update on my new little best friend, Tumor Baby (Todd). I’ve made some adjustments to the shape of his forehead and I extended his arms out just a bit. A few more things and Ill be ready to texture, rig, and animate him for the stage!
If anyone has any notes for me I’d love to hear them. I know there are a few tight spots in there.

Also known as Todd, this little guy is one who just want’s to get close to you. He spends most his time watching the news, and when he’s not, he likes to get down and dance!
This is a character for my ANM 202 class, but I have some bigger plans for him in the future. While I wrote out a HILARIOUS and BRILLIANT storyboard, it seems there weren’t enough key poses in the storyline for the class. So I had to change it to a simple dance segment. That should satisfy the teacher…I think. I hope, because I am on double time this semester and I am totally slammed with homework. I’d really like to work on this drawing more, but I didn’t have much time and it’s already due, and I have another class worth of work to get done. I hope I am able to model this guy to my standards, but I am not sure how much we will and can learn in 7 weeks. At leas, I will have him available for more projects later and I can continue to improve him when needed. Hope you like him!

I think I got this guy figured out, and I think I know where I am going to use him. He is now a messy butcher. He’s not as mean as he looks, he loves Cypress Hill and smoking pot. But he will kill you and make sausage out of you.

Changes I made in finalizing include adding an iris, color in the face and hair, changing the skull mass and ears, sweaty pits, and obviously making him a bloody mess.
